Also commonly known outside of East Asia as fire (or UFO) balloons and sky candles, these Sky Lanterns are made with a bamboo frame covered with flame-retardant oiled rice paper. The flame that produces the heat causing the lantern to rise comes from a small wax-based fuel cell. Sky lanterns should be launched only in relatively calm conditions in an area away from inflammable ground material. Sold individually; assorted colors.
